Job scope includes

  • Provide expert, culturally safe specialist geriatric services. 
  • Provide evidence-based and quality clinical care of individual patients in all settings. 
  • Undertake clinical responsibilities within the facility clinical services capability framework including inpatient, outpatient, on-call, evening, and weekend work.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, implementation and delivery of clinical services and contemporary models of care that assist with patient flow and care needs of patients over 65 years of age.

 


Selection criteria

  • FRACP  or SIMGs who are already assessed as “substantially comparable” or geriatricians with a strong chance to be ( either NZ, UK, Ireland, South Africa, USA or Canadian training).
  • First-class communication skills so as to liaise effectively and compassionately with team members, colleagues, patients, families, and the community including those from diverse cultural backgrounds in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proven commitment to leading and participating in internal education programs at undergraduate and
  • postgraduate levels.
  • Train, teach and supervise junior medical staff. 
  • Willingness to work on-call.
