This hospital and health service is the main specialist referral and trauma centre in this part of Victoria. The hospital is a modern purpose-built teaching hospital caring for a population of approx. 280k with over 2000 staff. Services provided include mental health, elective surgery, emergency, women's health, rehabilitation, oncology etc.

As a teaching hospital they have great and productive links with major universities and provide unique clinical experiences for medical students. As such there is an opportunity with this post to enjoy a joint appointment with a major Australian university.

In respect to mental health, they are the main providers of care and have an inpatient unit as well as community mental health teams across multiple sites. The MHS operates on integrated principles across these sites and provides inpatient and community services for adults, children, young adults and old age.

Multiple posts are available so if you are interested in a 100% inpatient job or a mix with community (or other special interests) then the service could shape the role around your interests (following discussions with the clinical director).
