The consultant psychiatry post will reward you with a leading remuneration package, properly reflecting and respecting your training and experience.
You will provide first class psychiatric care in inpatient, outpatient and community settings whilst teaching, supervising & mentoring psychiatry trainees, registrars etc. You will be a collaborative leader within a talented and motivated multi-disciplinary team. You'll develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in primary care, NGOs, community groups etc. as well as consulting with colleagues in other medical specialties.

Essential requirements

You will hold FRANZCP or have completed specialist training in Ireland, UK, NZ, USA, South Africa or Canada. Applicants who have completed training in Sri Lanka and who have 2 yrs work experience in Australia or New Zealand during their training are encouraged to apply.

If trained outside of Australia, ideally you will have a minimum of 2.5yrs work experience as a consultant/specialist at time of reading and have completed a formal post in child and adolescent psychiatry during your training.

Substantial clinical experience in general adult psychiatry.
Applicants with some experience in community based services will be highly regarded.
