The ED here is a busy regional unit. The multidisciplinary team is dynamic and provides comprehensive care to approx. 40k presentations per annum. You'll play an important in delivering this comprehensive clinical service. You'll lead the MDT in doing so whilst promoting patient safety and the highest quality standards within the ED.
Further responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership, management training, supervision and education of SMPs.
- Teach and mentor doctors in training.
- Be an advocate for continuing medical education for yourself and all colleagues.
- Foster, develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and partners internally and externally.
Selection criteria
- FACEM or equivalent.
- Substantial postgrad experience in emergency medicine and hospital practice. 4
- Commitment to continuing medical education.
- First class communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the effective management of clinical risk and quality improvement.
- Applicants with experience in regional/rural area medicine and Aboriginal health will be highly considered.
