If you have a passion for innovative ideas in a regional mental health care setting, this could be the ideal job! In this post you will provide in regional communities, within an acute mental health care shared model of service. The service HQ is located just 1.5hrs from Perth's suburbs.
Most of your work here will be clinical (estimated 80% of your time) which will include delivering productive clinical leadership and consultation services to primary health stakeholders, NGOs, community groups, cares and families; chairing MDT and clinical intake meetings; supervise and mentor doctors in training; tele-health and in-person family, carer and patient consultation. Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to stakeholder management, policy planning and strategy, working with aboriginal organisations and participating in teaching, professional development and research.
Essential criteria:
- FRANZCP or equivalent specialist training completed in UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ , South Africa, Sri Lanka. If Sri Lankan training you must have completed international placement in Australia or New Zealand.
- Experience in adult acute mental health services within MDT contexts
- Excellent clinical leadership skills within a MDT context.
- Willingness to participate in internal teaching programs.
- Interest in clinical governance, quality/continual improvement initiatives.
- First class verbal and written communication skills.
