In this job you will be responsible for specialist clinical care of obs and gyn patients attending Geraldton Hospital and in the community of the Midwest region of Western Australia. This will be done by collaborating with nursing, midwives and GPOs to facilitate patient management. You will have the ability to work as an effective multidisciplinary team member, promote positive working relationships and be able to provide accredited undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision, demonstrating a commitment to your own CME as well as your colleague's CME. Negotiating with patient transport services such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service to facilitate the safe transfer of patients for tertiary care is also a key part of the job.

 

 

Selection criteria 

  • FRANZCOG or equivalent specialist training gained in either UK, Ireland, NZ, USA, Canada, South Africa or USA. 
  • High level clinical skills with experience gained in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to provide clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary context.
  • Experience in devising, implementing, monitoring and evaluating clinical governance systems. 
  • Ability to provide accredited undergrad and postgrad teaching and supervision with a commitment to CME for your staff (as well as yourself). 
  • Willingness to participate in on-call roster.
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues in working within multicultural communities and Aboriginal communities. 
  • Drivers licence with availability to travel throughout the region including overnight stays.
