In this region of Western Australia there are two main health campuses and three smaller hospitals in three other locations. The region's economy is primarily reliant on mining and agriculture. In this post you will be tasked with providing paediatric care to paediatric and neonatal patients in the main health campus. Working closely with the specialist nurse you will also provide administrative leadership whilst also participating in policy review and development, clinical governance activities and in teaching doctors in training.
Essential seection criteria
- FRACP (Paeds) or equivalent e.g CCT in UK or Ireland, board certified USA, Canadian quals.
- Senior level general paediatric experience.
- Experience in neonatal resuscitation and neonatology at a senior level.
- Good experience in/understanding of rural health provision.
- Advanced skills in interpersonal professional relationship builling, communication and problem solving skills.
- Commitment to clinical governance.
Applicants with significant experience in rural and remote Paediatric medicine will be highly regarded. Applicants with demonstrated understanding of issues within a cross cultural environment, particularly Aboriginal culture, will also be highly regarded.
