You will be tasked with providing first-class medical care to Paediatric and neonatal patients in the Kalgoorlie Health Campus. Further, you will provide administrative leadership working closely with the clinical nurse specialist of Paediatrics whilst also assisting with policy development and review, training, supervision and education for registrars and resident medical officers. You will also liaise with aeromedical providers such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service facilitate transfer of patients for tertiary care (to Perth or elsewhere).
Key areas of focus within a context of rural and remote Paediatric medicine are:
- Clinical.
- Teaching.
- Leadership & management.
Interested applicants must demonstrate:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health Division) or equivalent gained in either UK, Ireland, USA, NZ or Canada.
- experience in General Paediatric medicine at a senior level.
- experience in Neonatal resuscitation and neonatology at a senior level.
- Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of professional issues and trends in Paeds.
- an understanding of remote area health service provision.
- first class comm skills with a collaborative approach.
- be prepared for travel with regular overnight stays.
- participate in the oncall roster.
- have an interest in Aboriginal health and medicine.
