  • 76hr week.
  • Work in close knit communities, close to ski fields and beaches. Easy access to Melbourne.

  • 14 bed CICM Level II Unit.

This hospital is a purpose built, fully integrated, major regional facility less than 2hrs from Melbourne. They provide on site specialty support for obs & gyn, paeds, general medicine, orthopaedic and general surgery, uro, geriatric, rehabilitation, psychiatry, cancer care and ICU.

 

It treats over 30k inpatients pa with 9k surgical procedures and 100 babies born each year. The ED is the regional trauma centre with rotary wing aero-med capacity and has approx. 30k presentations each year. 

 

The health service has close links with a tier 1 Australian university in respect to undergrad teaching and post grad jobs. 

 

The ICU is a 14 bed unit made of IC, CC/HD and SHD beds - managed reactively between ICU and physicians. The facility has full ICU capability including invasive cardio monitoring, mech ventilation and haemofiltration. The ICU has around the clock cover.

 

As an Intensivist here your responsibilities will include training, mentoring and supervising medical and nursing staff; providing leadership, medical management, clinical governance and the provision of quality intensivist services; promote CME activities within the unit and complete your ongoing requirements; work well and collaboratively with other medical specialties and relevant stakeholders; lead from the front. 

 

Selection criteria:

 

  • FCICM 
  • HIgh level personal and negotiating skills. 
  • High level decision making ability.
  • Experience in the management and development of colleagues. 
  • Commitment to clinical excellence, governance and patient safety.
  • Interest and ability to implement change.
