The Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Bundaberg Hospital, to provide excellent clinical care, ensuring high standards of patient safety and quality.

Opportunity highlights include but are not limited to

*Conduct outpatient clinics throughout the WBHHS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

*Provide leadership, supervise, and teach any allocated resident medical staff.

*Teach allocated medical students of University of Queensland and/or James Cook University, diploma and advanced diploma candidates, and specialist trainees and possibly become a training supervisor.

*Ensure your professional development is up to date. Be an advocate for professional development with colleagues. 

*Liaise and collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

*Perform advanced laparoscopic and vaginal reconstructive surgery.

*Provide other expert Obstetrics and Gynaecology services for the patients at Bundaberg Hospital and participate in after-hours on call and weekend roster.

 

Selection criteria

*FRANZCOG preferred or SIMGs assessed as SC already or SIMGs with equivalent training gained in Ireland or UK, USA, Canada, NZ or South Africa. 

*Proof of vaccination in Hep B, MMR, varicella (chicken pox) and pertussis (whooping cough), covid. 

*You thrive working in a team. 

*Demonstrated ability to competently work as an expert consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology .

*Demonstrated expert clinical knowledge.

*Demonstrated sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills .

*A commitment to continuing professional education and development.

*A willingness to teach others, including interns, junior medical officers and undergraduate medical students.

*Experience in working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

*High level verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work and liaise with junior and senior medical staff, and other health professionals.

*Proven ability to practice in a cross-cultural environment
