This exciting job is within the West Australian Country Health Service's South West Region. Based in Bunbury, you will enjoy living and working in a sensational coastal town only 2hrs from metropolitan Perth.

The job

In this role you will take responsibility for clinical governance and leadership in respect to delivery of clinical services. You'll also provide leadership in respect to line management whilst managing and allocating budgets and resources to ensure service objectives are met. Specific responsibilities include , but aren't limited to:

 

  • Ensuring service and department compliance with WA mental health legislation.
  • Ensuring best-in-practice psychiatric care is delivered to patients in the region ensuring they and their carers remain central during the process.
  • Act as the point of clinical accountability, providing clinical leadership to all staff in the region.
  • Develop and maintain links with important stakeholders such as primary care providers, NGOs, community groups etc. 
  • As a critical member, provide input to the service management group.
  • As a member of the Mental health leadership group helped to plan, develop and implement policies and strategies. 
  • Participate in recruitment of medical and non-medical senior staff.
  • Promote the collection of medical data across the service. 

 

 

What experience are they looking for? If not FRANZCP then

 

  • specialist training completed in either Ireland, UK, NZ, USA or Canada.
  • significant experience as a consultant and as a healthcare leader.
  • experience in shaping and implementing clinical governance projects.
  • skills in long term planning, admin and analysis.
  • first class communication skills with abilities to build relationships quickly, achieve outcomes and work collaboratively with others. 

 

Applicants who have any or all of the following will be highly regarded: post grad quals in health service management, experience or interest in aboriginal health & culture.
