Leave entitlements - Australia

Posted 30/7/2022 by Alasdair Spinner

After a long absence on this blog I've concluded that thinking of things to write about is harder than writing about what you’ve thought about.

However, having returned from my holidays I've been inspired to provide simple information about what forms of leave entitlements are available in Australia for consultants/specialists. Easy!

Remember, each state or territory in Australia has different salaries and entitlements negotiated with the Australian Medical Association and the respective state or territory governments who are responsible for healthcare operations and delivery. Within each state or territory there can also be variations on remuneration and leave entitlements etc. if a location is categorised as more remote than normal.

When I say they have different entitlements I mean they’re different but also similar. Much like the mental health acts in each state or territory!
