Spinner Medical Recruitment are pleased to be seeking expressions of interest from consultants in child & adolescent psychiatry interested in joining one of Melbourne's leading mental health services. They have an immediate opening for a consultant in child & adolescent psychiatry to join their large collegiate group of existing CAMHS specialists. It is an adolescent inpatient setting - 15 beds.
Melbourne is a world-class city connected with direct flights to South East Asia, China, Middle Eastern hubs. It is home to some cracking cultural venues and museums, including the incredible Melbourne Cricket ground. It has always been a multicultural city. It has a rich ethnic mix of European migration (Greeks, Italians) joined with most recent demographic increases of Chinese and Indian Australians making it a cosmopolitan and exciting city of 5million people. Private schooling options are rich as are the employment prospects for non-medical (and medical ) partners/spouses.
The service is interested in a consultant in child and adolescent psychiatry who has a broad range of experience with adolescents in inpatient settings. The ward has 15 beds and is well supported with a talented MDT and links closely with community services so that young people can be discharged to continue their recovery in the community as soon as possible. The service is a large and diverse mental health service which can offer you unprecedented research opportunities and academic affiliations given its relationships with universities in Melbourne.
Job scope will included:
*Teaching and training.
*Quality improvement and service development.
*Collaborating with colleagues and the MDT.
Naturally, FRANZCP will be highly regarded. However, if you are a child and adolescent psychiatrist who has completed your training in Ireland, UK, USA, NZ, Canada, South Africa or Sri Lanka (for Sri Lankan trained - international placement must've been in Australia) then your application will also be seriously considered.
