  • Child and Adolescent inpatient and community settings.
  • Remuneration up to $520k (including 1st year incentive bonus).
  • Tropical North Queensland, Australia. 

 


This mental health service includes a 38 bed Acute Adult Mental Health Unit; a 10 bed Psychiatric ICU; a 12 bed (sub-acute) Adult Step Up Step Down, 20 bed Community Care Unit; an Acute care Team including a telehealth intake service and the ED mental health team; Adult Mental Health Community Care Teams; Child and Youth Mental Health Services; Older Persons Service ; Consultation Liaison; Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team; Rural & Remote a Forensic Mental Health Service; Perinatal and Addictions. 

 

The child and adolescent mental health service has a number of teams working across the region and also provides outreach services.

 

The service provides community and hospital (Consultation Liaison) based services. These include early intervention, forensic and other specialty services focusing on child, adolescent and family mental health and development.

 

Services include:

  • Therapeutic Services
  • Assertive Mobile Youth Outreach Service
  • A support to school and service providers.
  • A residential Youth Step Up Step Down.

Selection criteria

 

  • FRANZCP or training in child and adolescent psychiatry completed in NZ, Ireland, UK, Canada, USA or South Africa.
  • Broad range of clinical skills in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • First class communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative ethos.
  • A willingness to participate in quality improvement activities.
  • An enthusiasm for professional development, research and so on.
