In this job you will provide clinical leadership, consultation, liaison and support to patients, carers, relevant stakeholders and immediate healthcare professionals throughout the Kimberley region in Western Australia. 

 

 Promote the organisational culture and principles of person centred, trauma informed, culturally safe and recovery focused service delivery. Travel within the Kimberley regions is required in this role.

 

Remuneration

 

  • up to AUD$603k pa (depending on level of consultant experience) PLUS add ons (extended leave etc. accommodation assistance)

 

Rem breakdown includes but is not limited to:

 

  • $31k pa CPD allowance (paid w. salary).
  • 3 month salary retention bonus after 3yrs service then per annum bonus. 
  • 11% tax free superannuation (pension) employer contribution. 

 

and

  • Great recreational benefits locked in to your contract - extended leave etc.

 

Job scope

 

  • Clinical and liaison 70% of your time.
  • Teaching/ CPD 15%
  • Safety & quality 10% 
  • Other 5%.

Interested applicants must have :

 

  • FRANZCP OR equivalent (UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, NZ trained, for example)
  • Experience in rural and remote psychiatry.
  • Demonstrated skills in CansMEd framework: as a medical expert, communicator, collaborator, manager, health advocate, scholar and professional. 
  • Experience in service development, working with colleagues to do so. 
  • Be experienced in telehealth psychiatry.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level organisational and IT skills.

 

and

  • be prepared for travel throughout the region with regular overnight stays away.
  • be prepared to participate in the on-call roster.
  • have an interest in indigenous health and culture.
