Consultant Anaesthetist, Darwin. Up to $615k excluding on - call.

 

 

A new wage agreement has been decided upon, proposing up to $615k + on - call for eligible consultants.

Job highlights

  • As the Anaesthetist, you'll provide high-quality anaesthesia, acute pain, and perioperative medicine services across the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals, as well as visiting services to Katherine and Gove Hospitals.
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in the development of anaesthesia practices in the NT, contribute to ongoing research, and help educate, supervise and mentor junior medical colleagues.
  • You'll also play a key role in ensuring the department adheres to high levels of clinical governance,  safety and quality standards.
  • Be part of a National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre, offering exposure to a diverse range of medicine.
  • Work with a team of dedicated doctors, nurses and support staff in a cross-cultural and inclusive environment.

Selection Criteria

  • FANZCA or equivalent, applicants already assessed by ANZCA as SIMGs will be highly regarded, as will applicants assessed via the ESP.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Commitment to continuous education, teaching, and improving healthcare quality.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural team environment.
