As Consultant Anaesthetist, you’ll support the Director of Anaesthesia by delivering high-quality clinical care within the department, contributing to education, and playing an active role in patient safety, audit, research and service planning.

The department covers a broad mix of anaesthesia services, including orthopaedics, trauma, general surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, ENT, dental, ECT and endoscopy. You’ll also be involved in the pre-assessment clinic, acute pain service, obstetric epidural service, and provide support to trauma and cardiac arrest teams.
As an accredited training department, you’ll play a key role in supervising and supporting Principal House Officers, Junior House Officers, Interns, Registrars and Provisional Fellows.
As an accredited training facility, the department provides a dynamic teaching environment. The successful applicant will contribute to the supervision and development of more junior medical colleagues.
