This mental health service is an integral part of one of Victoria's leading public healthcare providers: Bendigo Health. Bendigo Health serves the population of the city of Bendigo and surrounding regions, covering 37,000 square kilometres with a catchment population of over 250,000. The flagship facility in Bendigo is a world-class major hospital in which the mental health service occupies a full floor with a bespoke built environment and 80 beds. Bendigo itself is a modern, prosperous and safe city. It has one of Victoria's best independent schools in the state and is only 1hr 30 mins drive to Melbourne. Bendigo is an easy city to get around and the housing options (compared to expensive real estate in Melbourne) are really very good.

The inpatient services at the new hospital take up an entire floor. A range of clinical services is provided to patients across all ages and is split into dedicated programs. A Parent & Infant Unit providing antenatal, postnatal, parent, and infant mental health assessments and management is also open. Community bed based services include Community Care, Adult Prevention and Recovery and Youth Prevention and Recovery programs.

The philosophy of care is structured on evidence based treatment and patient centred care supported by recovery orientated principles; sensitive to culture, gender and responses to trauma. Avoiding inpatient admission whenever possible is key whilst respecting patient and carer wishes.
