Remuneration package: Up to $534k plus oncalls.

About the Role and ED.
The Geraldton Health Campus Emergency Department is expanding. The ED provides comprehensive emergency services to Geraldton and other communities in the region. As the Regional Resource Centre for the Midwest region, they support outlying nursing posts and small hospitals via first class contemporary emergency telehealth systems.
Their blended medical model includes FACEMs, skilled and experienced Senior Medical Practitioners, Registrars and Residents - all underpinned by a strong culture of on-site education, teaching as well as CPD.
The service has placements for GP trainees along with ACEM and CICM (College of Intensive Care Medicine) trainees and their senior doctors each have a portfolio with dedicated non-clinical time which helps to contribute to the safe, high quality-care culture whilst enhancing the overall patient experience. Leadership and management training are actively encouraged, and resources for education and supervision are well supported.
The ED has a collegial, upbeat culture of acceptance and recognition, and is genuinely an enjoyable place to work.
The hospital inpatient units are staffed by general specialists across medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, psychiatry and O&G, with an anaesthetic department consisting of specialist anaesthetists, rural generalist anaesthetists. All are supported by registrars, residents and interns. There is a 24-hour laboratory service, radiology including CT on site, with some limited access to off-site MRI, and a full range of allied health staff and outpatient services.
The exciting redevelopment - once completed - of the Geraldton Health Campus will feature an expanded, state-of-the-art Emergency Department, a new ICU and High Dependency Unit and integrated mental health service with an adult inpatient unit and short stay unit. Planning is also underway to establish a radiation oncology service with a LINAC ensuring they can deliver world-class, safe, and sustainable care for the Midwest communities.
The Successful Candidates Will:
- Be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Have Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or equivalent training completed in UK, Ireland, USA , Canada or South Africa.
- Applicants already assessed by ACEM as substantiallly comparable will be highly regarded.
- Have substantial postgraduate medical experience in emergency medicine and hospital practice.
