Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist
Location: Ipswich, Queensland - just 35 mins from Brisbane CBD.
Package: From July 2027 $526k excluding oncalls, recalls and other allowances. Includes $23k professional development allowance, and up to $28k vehicle allowance.
The Forensic unit's settings include
- High Security Inpatient Service: 70 beds
- Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Service: 34 beds
- Extended Forensic Treatment & Rehabilitation Unit with 20 beds
- Specialised Services include prison and statewide outreach LD services.
In this important and high profile role, you will provide clinical oversight and daily operational accountability for an experienced and dedicated multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage your advanced and contemporary knowledge of forensic psychiatry to manage service delivery and elevate clinical standards.
- Harness your personal expertise and collaborate with professional colleagues to maximise team potential within a transparent, safe, and effective environment.
- Lead your team in plannning and delivering clinical strategies with measurable milestones, maintaining high performance and adaptability.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and medical students.

Essential Criteria
- FRANZCP or substantial comparability profile with RANZCP.
- Subspecialty quals in forensic psychiatry.
- Broad forensic psychiatry experience.
- MDT leadership experience.
- First class communication skills.
