The Armadale Mental Health Service provides inpatient, outpatient and community services for adults and older adults predominantly from the Armadale, Gosnells and Serpentine-Jarrahdale local government areas in Perth, Western Australia. Their inpatient services include 33 adult inpatient beds in 2 wards and a high dependency unit. Outpatient services to adults (aged 18 to 65) with a wide range of psychiatric and severe psychological disorders.
You will be tasked with managing patient flow within and between the relevant units. Specifically, to have 90% of patients moved to wards within 4hrs, that length of stays are within HRT benchmarks, community follow up rates for patients within 7 days is above 75%, readmission rates are low, discharge summary completions are above 80%, budget managements. Other key areas will of course be clinical - providing excellent care within a patient centred approach in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will also supervise trainee psychiatrists as well as participate in internal teaching initiatives for relevant staff. You will also participate in clinical governance activities and research initiatives, committees & RCA reviews.

Selection criteria
*FRANZCP or training completed in the UK or Ireland, USA, NZ, Canada, South Africa, Sri Lanka. If trained in Sri Lanka you must have completed your international placement in Australia or New Zealand.
*Experience in a broad range of adult psychiatry settings.
*If a SIMG, to satisfy RANZCP requirements, you will have completed 6months in child & adolescent psychiatry during your training and have at least 2.5yrs FTE of consultant experience at time of reading.
*Knowledge in contemporary psychiatric care and developments.
