Package of up to $477k plus on-call (depending on Years 1 - 9 as a consultant psychiatrist following completion of specialist training).

 

 

 

 

  • Following the announcement that a private clinic would cease operating, the WA State Government has stepped in to bring the state of the art facility into the public system.
  • The State Government has signed a lease to take on the former private mental health hospital building.
  • The new initial planned service will operate the state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility, with services to commence at the clinic in April. 
  • These planned services will include two floors dedicated to a women's mental health facility, with a focus on eating disorder services, and mixed-gender Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) and addiction withdrawal services. It's expected that a number of the clinic's existing outpatient psychiatric services will continue to be provided, including models of care tailored to veterans and first responders.
  • As well as 75-beds, the clinic features a mental health wellness and recovery centre to provide outpatient therapies and specialist consulting suites.
  • Therefore, they are now recruiting an additional 3 Consultants in Adult Psychiatry. 

 

 

They need a 

 

  • Consultant Psychiatrist with interests in psychotherapy to work across inpatient and outpatient.
  • Consultant Psychiatrist with interests in Rehabilitation psychiatry. 
  • Consultant Psychiatrist - Inpatient and Community. 

 

Job scope

 

 

  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist adult inpatient mental health care services.
  • Reporting to the Medical Director Mental Health Services you will participate in and lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will undertake supervision, education and training of junior medical staff. 
  • Make the most of health information systems and review clinical documentation to improve care.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to meet patient needs. 
  • Participate in clinical governance activities. 

 

 

Requirements

 

 

  • FRANZCP or equivalent gained in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada or South Africa.
  • Experience in rehab, psychotherapy, inpatient or community psychiatry. 
  • Experience in clinical governance initiatives. 
  • Willingness to participate in internal teaching, education and research activities.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call roster.
