This location is one of the fastest growing coastal regions in Australia. There is a choice of first rate private schools and the area provides premium lifestyle opportunities for families, singles or couples. The hospital and service has seen increased investment leading to ongoing development and capital works which will see first class theatre facilities and contemporary models of care to suit the needs of the community which has a catchment population of approx. 100k people. The organisation is the major specialist referral centre for the region and provides a very comprehensive mix of acute, sub-acute, specialist, mental health and geriatric services.
In this job responsibilities will include
- Delivering first class general or regional anaesthetist services, including in ED and obstetrics.
- Taking part in the on-call roster.
- Developing the service in respect to policies and systems.
- Initiating and participating in quality improvement and risk management programs.
- Helping in the training and education of students, doctors in training and nursing staff.
Selection criteria includes:
- FANZCA or equivalent.
- Experience in anaesthesia to enable providing care in a regional service.
- High level communication skills with a collaborative and collegiate style.
- Ability to manage competing clinical demands in high pressure environments.
