Job scope
This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering specialist psychiatric care to children, young people, and their families. Here, you'll conduct comprehensive psychiatric and risk assessments, lead recovery-focused interventions, and provide consultation across Emergency, Early Psychosis, Paeds, AODS, and community NGO services for 12–25 ages. This job spans inpatient, community, and telehealth — meaning real variety, real impact, and genuine reach into Queensland communities that need you most.
This is a role for a consultant psychiatrist who enjoys a lot of variety in their work. As well as community work, you'll also work within youth mental health and forensic psychiatry, advising courts and secure settings, chairing reviews, and shaping service development. This is a substantive, Australian career-defining position in one of Queensland's most beautifully located regional cities.

Selection criteria
- High level clinical knowledge and proficiency in child and youth psychiatry.
- FRANZCP or SIMG RANZCP Accelerated pathway substantially comparable eligibility (UK CCT).
- Overseas trained psychiatrists already assessed by RANZCP as substantially comparable will be highly regarded.
- Experience and leadership in MDTs.
- Clinical practice and service delivery to encourage early intervention and prevention.
- Willingness to teach undergrad, postgrad, DiTs etc.
