Child and Youth Service
In this role, you will provide best-practice, high-quality clinical care to clients requiring psychiatric services. You will be responsible for the appropriateness of individual patient treatment in relation to those allocated to your care.
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service encompasses four community teams, an 8-bed adolescent inpatient unit and day program, specialised therapeutic services, an assertive mobile youth outreach service, and an infant mental health service.
Key accountabilities

Advanced clinical skills working with children and young people in inpatient and community settings
-
Develop teaching and educational initiatives
-
Participate in the on-call roster
-
Liaise with other units and referring hospitals
-
Maintain appropriate records
-
Initiate and participate in clinical governance projects such as peer review, audits and quality-of-care initiatives
-
Ensure the organisation and delivery of training, supervision and research for junior medical colleagues

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists who can demonstrate the following are encouraged to enquire:

FRANZCP, or close to completion, or
-
UK-trained Consultants holding CCT, eligible for RANZCP accelerated and/or ESP pathways

Strong clinical and technical capability, with the skills required to deliver high-quality specialist psychiatric care

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and provide leadership within multidisciplinary teams

Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues and other health professionals

A genuine commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and best-practice clinical governance

An active interest in education and research, including a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education
