  • 1yr consultant experience $360,328k to 9yr consultant band experience $458k.

Bunbury itself is only 1hr from Freemantle and Perth's southern suburbs. It's all about the lifestyle here. The kids will love the beaches and leisure activities. And if you wanted, you could fly to Bali for the weekend as Perth airport is only 1.5hrs drive away. In Bunbury, schooling options are very good with choice in private schooling and government schooling. Hospital highlights

The ED is in the largest referral hospital for in the region. The ED has approx. 40 beds - covering resus, acute, paeds, MH, fast track and short stay.  It has enjoyed recent significant investment with the ED enjoying an extension! The ED is currently split into 3 teams : fast track, main floor and short stay with each run by a consultant.  Bunbury delivers efficient and safe emergency medicine care to a catchment population of approx. 90,000 people.

 

 

Job highlights

 

Job scope includes but is not limited to clinical work in Bunbury ED but also in providing support via telehealth to the regional hospitals. You will support medical and nursing staff. Further, you will have responsibility in clinical administration. For example, participating in a medical advisory committee, disaster planning , clinical pathway design etc. Leadership is important. You will be initiating and participating in quality improvement initiatives and in general service development activities. Education is also key in this job and as a senior clinician you will supervise and mentor junior medical staff. You will take the lead in under-grad and post-grad training as well as being a passionate advocate for CME for all your colleagues (and yourself). The hospital enjoys a close relationship with the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia. 

 

 

Selection criteria:

*FACEM or equivalent e.g FRCPsych etc. 

*Strong evidence of commitment to CME.

*First class comm skills.

*Commitment to clinical teaching.

*Demonstrable commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.

*Demonstrated ability to build stakeholder relationships for the betterment of all - with GPs, other hospital departments, NGOs, etc.
