The ED in the Albany Health Campus now has in place new features and initiatives including a new triage system, a new 24/7 entrance and new treatment rooms designed for greater privacy and sensitivity to mental health treatment. Further, there are  7 additional treatment bays, resuscitation bays and a short-stay observation unit is now open. 


You will provide leadership, management, training, supervision and education for Senior Medical Practitioners, Interns, Resident Medical Officers and Registrars in collaboration with the Director of Medical Services and hospital/health service executive.

Selection criteria

 

  • FACEM or training in emergency medicine completed in NZ, Ireland, UK, Canada, USA or South Africa.
  • Applicants already assessed by ACEM as “substantially comparable” will be highly regarded. 
  • Commitment to the effective management of clinical risk and improving quality.
  • First class communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative ethos.
  • An enthusiasm for professional development, research and so on.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with primary care, other hospital specialties and other stakeholders. 

Applicants with experience in regional medicine will be highly regarded.
