Your new Australian Emergency Department and community
They are a 340 bed health service which in the Aussie FY 2020-2021 triaged and treated 65k emergency presentations. A new AUD$40m state of the art ED has been commissioned with Stage 1 set for completion in 2023 and stage 2 in 2024.
Throughout the health service, 40k inpatients received care and 1.7k babies were delivered. Services are delivered across 18 sites. There are 30 sub-acute beds, 95 beds in mental health, 5 ICU, 7 surgical theatres and 120 general beds. The catchment population is 290k.
As Consultant in Emergency Medicine you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to patients requiring emergency medicine care. You will ensure your professional development is up to date as a specialist and act as an expert resource for other health care professionals. You will take part in internal teaching programs, help to develop KPIs and strategy and policy; as well as participating in quality improvement and research.

What you'll need to succeed.
- FACEM or equivalent. E.g. FRCEM.
- Excellent teamwork, collaborative and communication capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership, encouragement and inspiration.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research.
- Ability to provide supervision to medical staff in the ED.
- Willingness and ability to undertake continuous quality improvement projects.
- An understanding of the importance of your job and the health service plays in the community.
- A commitment to ethical medical practice.
- Willingness to be on an on-call roster.
