This post in Darwin involves providing first class care and advice to patients, carers and families in inpatient, community and outreach settings. You’ll also provide consultant advice to colleagues internally and in other specialties. You will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies across the service whilst ensuring clinical governance is at the highest standards - quality improvement, audit, teaching etc. by leading and taking part in these initiatives. Further, you will be an enthusiastic advocate for professional development - ensuring that your CPD is up to date and you encourage colleagues to do the same. 

 

 

 

 

Selection criteria

 

  • FRANZCP or specialist training completed in Ireland, UK, USA, Sri Lanka (with Australian or NZ international placement) Canada or South Africa.
  • And if trained in countries listed above, you will have completed a formal post in child and adolescent psychiatry, of at least 6 months.
  • Experience in delivering specialist care in multicultural environments. 
  • Applicants with experience in rural and remote mental health care provision will be highly regarded.
