We are currently recruiting suitably qualified and experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to join a broad network of General Adult Psychiatry services across the Sydney metropolitan basin.

 

These roles offer outstanding opportunities for career development within a diverse and well-resourced clinical environment. With recently announced changes to the psychiatry wage agreement it has never been a better time to consider relocating to Sydney.


Further, there are medium to long term lucrative private practice opportunities in Sydney which is an important consideration.

 

You will be joining a comprehensive mental health service delivering a full spectrum of care, including Acute Inpatient and Community Services, Psychiatric Emergency and Consultation-Liaison services, Aged Care Psychiatry, Rehab and Resi programs, PICU and Early Psychosis services.

 

Care is delivered through highly collaborative multidisciplinary teams, working closely with individuals and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes. Psychiatrists are supported by advanced trainees, registrars, mental health nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and dedicated administrative staff.
 

These positions also provide the opportunity to contribute to major statewide initiatives aimed at improving mental health outcomes across NSW. A significant multi-million-dollar mental health reform program is currently underway, with a strong focus on person-centred care.

Selection criteria 

  • FRANZCP or UK CCT or RANZCP substantial comparable profile.
  • Applicants assessed already by RANZCP or with ESP registration will be highly regarded. 
  • Ability to provide effective clinical leadership to your MDT.. 
  • First class communication, negotiation and influencing skills. 
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rosters.
  • Willingness to provide leadership, support and mentoring to junior medical staff.
