
Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry

What’s on Offer:
- Remuneration package up to $530k plus oncall, recall and penalty shift allowances.
- Car allowance of up to $25,500, CPD allowance of $21,000, employer paid pension (12% ).
- Generous leave entitlements including 3.6 weeks CPD leave.

Job scope includes
- Deliver high-quality psychiatric assessment, care, and treatment to patients including outpatient, inpatient, and Hospital-in-the-Home programs at 2 hubs.
- Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, fostering best practices and collaborative mental health care delivery.
- Contribute to the development of future medical professionals by providing supervision, education, and mentorship to junior doctors and allied health team members.
- Assist in data collection and audits relating to the service.
- Participate in research as appropriate.
- Participate in the hospital’s clinical governance, quality and safety processes, including root cause analyses where appropriate.
- Participate in service development activities.
Selection Criteria:
- FRANZCP or ESP eligible overseas trained psychiatrists.
- Broad experience in general adult psychiatry.
- Commitment to education, research, and continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Driving licence.
Applicants with the following will be highly regarded
- Previous work experience within acute/trauma teaching hospital environment.
- Proven ability to work in a collegiate partnership with other clinicians, nursing staff and managers.
- Ability to provide clinical leadership and to facilitate multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Maintenance of a clinical, academic appointment.
