Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine

A leading tertiary-aligned hospital is seeking a Specialist in Intensive Care to join a high-performing ICU team delivering excellence in complex patient care across trauma, infectious diseases, interventional cardiology, surgery, and paediatrics. The unit admits over 800 acute patients annually, supports a range of outreach services, and offers exposure to an exceptionally diverse casemix.
You’ll join a collegial team committed to education, research, and continuous service improvement. An active teaching program supports both junior doctors and critical care trainees. The unit collaborates closely with other specialties and is supported by tertiary networks, providing a rich environment for both learning and leadership.
What’s on offer:
- Permanent full-time or part-time positions
- Total package value up to approximately $530,000 excluding oncall and recall, penalty shift allowances.
- Generous leave entitlements: 5 weeks annual leave, 3.6 weeks of professional development leave
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- Full relocation and permanent resiency support.
Who we’re looking for:
- FCICM or eligible.
- Specialists registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA.
- Clinicians confident managing adult and paediatric intensive care patients.
- A commitment to collaborative, patient-centred care.
- Strong interest in teaching, research, and service development.
- Those with echocardiography experience or interest in rural/regional care will be highly regarded.
