Rockhampton is a city close to Queensland's Capricorn Coastline. Rockhampton Hospital is the 305-bed main referral hospital for the CQ Hospital and Health Service.
The O&G department provides maternity care services for approx. 1,500 deliveries annually. This is done via a mixture of Shared Care, Continuity Midwife teams and multidisciplinary High-Risk Clinics. The Maternity Unit is supported by a level four (≥32 weeks) special care nursery.The department also provides level five laparoscopic and major gynaecological surgical services. There are 12-14 scheduled operating theatre lists per fortnight. There are daily general gynaecology and antenatal clinics, plus uro-gynaecology and colposcopy services, as well as a community-based Aboriginal Australian antenatal clinic service. The particular opportunity can assist for interest in improving skills in obstetric ultrasound.

Job scope includes but is not limited to:
- Working closely with the Director you will ensure clinical services are of the highest standard possible and are delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
- You will help with the teaching and supervision of trainees, other medical colleagues, students and all other relevant stakeholders and nursing staff.
- You will help to manage and develop O&G services by working to continually improve patient safety, clinical governance, audits, service planning etc.
- Although based in Rockhampton you will also ensure care is also provided at other facilities when required and in line with the clinical services available.
Selection criteria:
- FRANZCOG or SIMG assessed as substantially comparable by RANZCOG.
- Expert clinical skills in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Demonstrated commitment and experience in improving quality, patient safety and reducing risk.
- First class communication skills in order to work well with MDT , colleagues, patients, families and external stakeholders.
- Well developed leadership skills with an ability to confidently represent the department, hospital and health service.
- Willing to undertake CME activities and promote them to all colleagues when required.
- Willing to participate in teaching and supervision.
- Supporting research and education opportunities.
- Evidence of vaccination against Covid-19, MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, Hep B.
- Driving licence.
