The John Hunter Hospital is a teaching hospital in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The 820 bed hospital is the main teaching hospital of the University of Newcastle. The hospital contains the only trauma centre in New South Wales outside the Sydney Metropolitan Area, and has the busiest emergency department in the state.
The Obs & Gyn department includes gynae-oncology and a high risk maternal-fetal medicine unit. It is the major tertiary referral hospital for the health service and it also provides care to women across the region who have complex Gynaecology and Gynaeoncology conditions.
Other services include paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, general gynaecology, colposcopy, menopause and gynaeoncology.

Requirements
- FRANZCOG or SIMG applicants MUST already be assessed by RANZCOG as ‘substantially comparable’.
- Broad experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Willingness to participate in internal teaching, education and research activities.
- Willingness to participate in the on-call roster.
