This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon to join a large regional tertiary referral hospital. The role offers a rewarding and stimulating career path, combining clinical work with teaching and the ongoing education and professional development of junior clinical staff and advanced trainees.
In this position, you will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients while also playing a key role in developing and expanding plastic and reconstructive services, including research within the department. The role includes outpatient clinics as well as scheduled fee-for-service (FFS) operating lists.
Applications are welcome from surgeons interested in 1.0 FTE (FRACS or equivalent) or part-time appointments (FRACS only).

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing best-practice surgical care to all patients
- Promoting and maintaining a strong customer-focused ethos and a sense of pride and purpose within the service
- Providing clinical leadership, supervision, and teaching for junior medical staff and others
- Maximising liaison skills to ensure effective interaction and service integration with other relevant services
- Initiating and participating in clinical governance activities
Selection criteria:
- FRACS or equivalent (if equivalent, surgeons must meet RACS substantial comparability requirements)
- SIMG surgeons already assessed by RACS will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated expert clinical ability commensurate with that of a specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, teach, and mentor junior medical staff
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills
