Consultant Psychiatrist, Hospital in the Home for Youths (16-24).
With a budget of over AUD$2 billion and approx. 9,000 FTE staff this major Perth health service provides best practice care to 800,000 people. The mental health division is Western Australia's largest providing Youth, Adult, Older Adult, Forensic and State-wide services in a variety of settings that include inpatient units within hospitals, community mental health centres, day therapy and outreach programs etc.
This health service's mental health service includes Western Australia's only standalone public psychiatric teaching hospital that provides acute care, rehabilitation, treatment and rehabilitation services for adults and old age patients.
The mhs also has a new Hospital in the Home service for young adults (16 - 24yrs old). This service delivers hospital-level care in the patient’s home or usual place of residence, avoiding the need for admission to a hospital ward. It provides clinical care equivalent to that delivered in hospital and supports access to additional community services when needed. These additional supports can assist with daily living activities, helping to reduce the burden on carers and families.
Clinicians work closely with patients and their families or carers over a typical period of around 14 days, offering intensive support, education and guidance. Wherever possible, they collaborate with GPs to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

Selection criteria includes but is not limited to
- FRANZCP or equivalent specialist qualifications gained in UK will be highly regarded.
- Significant experience in or interest in working with young adults aged 16-24 years old.
- Excellent management, administrative and analytical abilities.
- Clinical governance experience.
- Ability to facilitate effective mdt teamwork and provide patient centred care.
- Experience and willingness to provide under and post grad teaching.
