Remuneration package highlights.

 

  1. Between $416k pa and $509k pa PLUS

This purpose of this well remunerated job is to 

 

  1. Provide first class psychiatric care within a regional Queensland setting. 
  2. Deliver effective clinical leadership for the mental health team. 
  3. Develop and maintain strong and productive working relationships with relevant stakeholders. 

 

The job requires you to provide monthly outreach services to 4 regional hospitals as well as regular outreach to smaller, remote communities. Mental health services are provided as one coordinated outpatient service across multiple sites. There are no inpatient beds. There is a unit for interim emergency care. 

 

 

The service is offering the following potential arrangements:

 

  1. 1.0 FTE or substantial part time position based in Longreach with or without a private practice option.
  2. A less than full time total commitment with private practice options in the region.
  3. A FIFO option, with a home base in a location of your choice, including delivery of tele-psychiatry when required. 

 

Job scope includes:

 

  1. Clinical - across inpatient and community settings including old age. 
  2. Maximising tele-health. 
  3. You will oversee and guide generalist SMOs and provide supervision for generalist registrars training for advanced skills in psychiatry. 
  4. Clinical governance, quality, safety and risk. 
  5. Education & research.
  6. CME - maximising your own and encouraging others. 

 

 

Selection criteria

 

  1. FRANZCP  or equivalent gained in South Africa, UK, Ireland, Canada, USA. Psychiatrists trained in Sri Lanka are encouraged to apply if they have completed their international placements in Australia.
  2. Broad experience across the spectrum of psychiatry in community, inpatient settings.
  3. Success in working in a multidisciplinary team. 
  4. A driving licence. 
  5. Willingness to travel and stay overnight.
  6. Willingness to participate in a roster.
  7. Evidence of covid19, Hep b, MMR, varicella etc. vaccination.
