We are seeking an experienced psychiatrist FRANZCP to provide clinical leadership in psychiatric care in the beautiful Katherine region of the Northern Territory. This position offers the opportunity to deliver specialised mental healthcare in a unique remote and rural environment while making a significant impact on patient outcomes in the region.

Job scope

In this exciting job, you'll lead the assessment, planning, and management of patients using recognised clinical principles to achieve excellent care outcomes. Your responsibilities include participating in community clinics and working as consultation liaison psychiatirst at Katherine Hospital. As a clinical leader, you will provide consultancy and supervision to staff in collaboration with team managers and actively contribute to the postgraduate Psychiatry training program as a teacher and supervisor. Beyond clinical duties, you will uphold the highest ethical standards, adhere to work health and safety protocols to ensure a safe service environment, and foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership and role-modeling.

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • FRANZCP
  • At least 5 years of consultant psychiatry experience.
  • Experience in remote and rural psychiatry.
  • Interest and experience in working with Aboriginal mental health.
