Job scope
Help deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across this regional health service. This is an exciting opportunity to help define and improve respiratory and sleep medicine services. This will include high-quality specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with respiratory and sleep-related conditions in inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings. The role will focus on establishing a standard bronchoscopy service and completing the necessary training to obtain accreditation in advanced bronchology within a reasonable timeframe. Key objectives include:
- Developing a regular clinico–radiologic–pathologic multidisciplinary team framework for lung cancer management across the region.
- Strengthening liaison and clinical collaboration with private respiratory physicians in the region.
- Supervising and teaching advanced trainees, junior medical officers, and medical students.
- Cultivating strong clinical, academic, and research partnerships within the hospital, the Health Service, and the broader academic community
Essential criteria:
- FRACP or equivalent specialist training.
- SIMG applicants already assessed by RACP as 'substantially comparable' will be highly regarded.
- Excellent experience in respiratory and Sleep Medicine providing high-quality specialist medical care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of respiratory and sleep disorders.
- Excellent team work and collaborative skills.
- Willingness to participate in internal teaching programs.
- Demonstrated interest in clinical governance, quality/continual improvement initiatives.
- Willingness to identify opportunities for innovation, quality improvement, and optimisation of clinical pathways.
