A new wage agreement has been decided upon, proposing up to $615k + on - call for eligible consultants.

JOB HIGHLIGHTS

  • As a Staff Specialist/consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, you will deliver high-quality care across inpatient, outpatient and theatre settings at Royal Darwin Hospital, with additional outreach to regional hospitals and remote communities across the Top End.
  • You will play a key role in managing a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological cases, providing specialist advice to colleagues locally and in geographically isolated settings, while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • This role offers the opportunity to be actively involved in teaching and supervision of junior medical staff, as well as contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate education within a supportive training environment.
  • You will participate in the ongoing development of Obstetrics & Gynaecology services in the Northern Territory, including clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and service planning.
  • Be part of a diverse and inclusive healthcare environment, working closely with Aboriginal communities and making a meaningful impact on Indigenous health outcomes.

Selection criteria 

  • FRANZCOG or equivalent, UK/Ireland CCT will be highly regarded
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Commitment to continuous education, teaching, and improving healthcare quality.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural team environment.
