Your new hospital and service
The hospital in Gladstone is a 70-bed hospital with 282 FTE staff across acute, community and primary care. The hospital provides a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, basic Orthopaedic, Clinical Investigation, Obstetrics, Maternity, Gynaecology, High Dependency and Coronary Care, Palliative care, Medical Imaging, Pathology, and Paediatrics. Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs Service, Oral Health, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Speech Pathology, and outreach/community-based facilities, as well as a Primary Health Care Centre.
Your new job
You will deliver first class, expert Obstetrics and Gynaecology services at the Hospital as well as professional support to other facilities in the service, including in outreach services. Further you will help the Executive group in ensuring specialist services provided are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner. You will also participate in the education and supervision of trainees, junior medical staff, medical students, Midwives, Nursing staff and so on.
Clinical governance is also important and your active participation in patient safety initiatives, clinical audits, investigations and the management of adverse clinical incidents and complaints, research, and service planning activities will be critical.

What you need to succeed
*FRANZCOG or equivalent training gained in either the UK, Ireland, South Africa, USA or Canada.
*Extensive clinical experience with very good knowledge and skills extending across the range of general obs and gyn.
*Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
*Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary workplace setting and leadership skills within this context.
*Experience in education programs for junior medical staff.
