A leading tertiary-aligned hospital is seeking a Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery to join a high-performing team delivering first class surgical care in Queensland.
You’ll join a collegial team committed to education, research, and continuous service improvement. An active teaching program supports both junior doctors and critical care trainees. The unit collaborates closely with other specialties and is supported by tertiary networks, providing a rich environment for both learning and leadership.
What’s on offer:
- New announced 8% salary increases over 3 years.

- Total package value up to approximately $530k plus oncall and recall, penalty shift allowances.

What the hospital is looking for:
- FRACS or eligible for with ideally training completed in either UK, Ireland , Canada or USA or have been assessed already by RACS
- Recent, demonstrable competence within orthopaedic surgery.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of surgical proficiency and high‑quality patient care consistent with standards set by RACS.
- Extensive experience delivering safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
- Advanced understanding and application of contemporary leadership principles to build, motivate, and sustain effective teams.
- High‑level problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement innovative, appropriate solutions.
- Well‑developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, patients, families, and stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of effective team dynamics and collaborative practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to upholding and contributing to the health service's values.
