This is an excellent opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, influence service development, and help drive excellence in trauma and elective orthopaedic care.

 

Your Role includes but is not limited to

  • Provide high-quality orthopaedic care.
  • Help with the with the education and supervision of surgical trainees and other medical staff, medical students, and allied health, community groups and nursing staff as well as assist in the day to day management of surgical services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, research and service planning activities. 
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective and coordinated clinical care.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture within the department and wider hospital.
  • Demonstrate clinical leadership and help support, guide and motivate junior medical staff and colleagues.
  • Help identify future trends, contribute to service planning and development for the health service
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues, patients, families and other healthcare stakeholders.

  • Total remuneration package of up to $573k per year, depending on experience and classification from July 2026
  • Motor Vehicle allowance $23-$28k depending on salary band - paid.

Selection Criteria 

  • Hold FRACS or have equivalent overseas qualifications, suitable to be substantially comparable.
  • Applicants already assessed by RACS will be highly regarded.
  • Have first class communication skills at a clinical level with an ability to develop excellent working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Have a willingness to take part in the on-call roster.
  •  Have a commitment to research and clinical governance.
  • Enjoy leadership and your role within a multidisciplinary team.
