Rockhampton is a city 20mins from Queensland's beautiful Capricorn Coastline. Rockhampton Hospital is the 305-bed main referral hospital for the CQ Hospital and Health Service. 

 

 


Remuneration highlights:

  • Up to $534k package plus on-call and other (depending on years at consultant level).

Job scope includes but is not limited to:

 

  • Working closely with the Director you will support the department in maintaining excellent Otolaryngology Services in the health service. The role involves overseeing the supervision and education of surgical trainees, medical staff, students, allied health professionals, community groups, and nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care

 

 

Selection criteria:

 

  • FRACS or SIMG assessed as substantially comparable by RACS.
  • At least 3 years consultant experience.
  • Expert clinical skills in Otolaryngology, for a wide range of procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience in improving quality, patient safety and reducing risk. 
  • First class communication skills in order to work well with MDT , colleagues, patients, families and external stakeholders. 
  • Well developed leadership skills with an ability to confidently represent the department, hospital and health service. 
  • Willing to undertake CME activities and promote them to all colleagues when required. 
  • Willing to participate in teaching and supervision.
  • Supporting research and education opportunities.
  • Evidence of vaccination against Covid-19, MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, Hep B. 
  • Driving licence.
