Consultant in Community Paediatrics - Developmental Paediatrician.

 

  • Remuneration up to $500k 
  • Relocation allowance up to $55k reimbursement.

This major division of the health service provides a range of primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare services.Provision is a family-centred, interdisciplinary approach to care, in partnership with consumers and other service providers. Services include an Early Family Support Service, an Enhanced Child Health Service, a Community Paediatrics and Women’s Health Service.
 


Specialist medical services for kids are provided through community paediatric outpatient services. Teams provide medical services for children and adolescents requiring assessment, treatment or review relating to suspected or established developmental delay or disability, and behavioural or emotional disturbance.

 

 

 

Job scope.

 

  • Collaborate with Nursing, Medical and Allied Health professionals and with external stakeholders to facilitate comprehensive care and interventions for children and young people with a background of trauma and complex health needs.
  • Prepare medical reports and actively participate in clinical consultations, collaborative multidisciplinary assessments, and team meetings to ensure the provision of evidence based holistic care.
  • Provide supervision to Community Paediatric Registrars, and lead research programs in the service as well as taking a role in student teaching in the Canberra Medical School.
  • Initiate and support quality improvement programs.

Requirements

 

 

  • FRACP or equivalent gained in either NZ, UK, Ireland, USA, Canada.
  • SIMG applicants already assessed by RACP as ‘substantially comparable’ will be highly considered.
  • Sub speciality experience in General Paediatrics and/or Community Child Health.
  • Willingness to participate in internal teaching, education and research activities.
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call roster.
