This exciting opportunity enables you to provide expert clinical care to pediatric patients throughout the inspiring Goldfields region of Western Australia. While your primary base will be in Kalgoorlie, you will also have the chance to explore the diverse communities and stunning inland and coastal landscapes of this incredible region.

 

As Consultant Paediatrician, you will play a key role in delivering first-class clinical care, working closely with the dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist and MDT. You will will engage in policy development and clinical governance, ensuring the highest standards for patient care. Additionally, you'll involved in outpatient care, including developmental pediatrics, making a significant impact on the lives of children in the communities, including in Aboriginal communities. 

 

The team comprises three experienced Pediatricians and five committed trainees, including a Senior Registrar, Registrar, and two Residents in accredited Pediatric training positions. This role will include an on-call requirement, making a meaningful difference during emergency and critical care situations.

 

Essential selection criteria

 

  • FRACP (Paeds) or equivalent e.g CCT in UK or Ireland, board certified USA, Canadian quals. 
  • Senior level general paediatric experience.
  • Experience in neonatal resuscitation and neonatology at a senior level.
  • Good experience in/understanding of rural health provision.
  • Advanced skills in interpersonal professional relationship builling, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Commitment to clinical governance. 

 

Applicants with significant experience in rural and remote Paediatric medicine will be highly regarded. Applicants with demonstrated understanding of issues and enthusiasm for working within a cross cultural environment, including in Australian Aboriginal culture, will be highly regarded.
