Benefits

  • FIFO, residential or combination of both.
  • Choose beachside location or inland.
  • World leading public sector healthcare salary  & additional benefits like housing.

Your duties will cover providing first class leadership, clinical care, ensuring continual quality and clinical governance improvement whilst advocating professional development of your multidisciplinary team and colleagues.

This includes providing a wide range of treatments to patients following collaboration with carers, families and your MDT. You will provide a visiting consultation liaison service to a number of hospitals in the area.

The MHS delivers services to 2 major communities and other, smaller communities. There is an inpatient facility in one of the major communities and community services are delivered throughout. They provide care to adults, older age, child and adolescents in this context but also to shared care locations, treatment at home or in general community. Outreach is provided to several remote townships and indigenous Australian communities. An NGO manages a new Step Up Step Down facility.

This job would suit a consultant psychiatrist interested in working in a regional part of Australia and enjoying the lifestyle benefits this will give you. These include a slower pace of life, an opportunity to explore regional WA including its incredible coastline and communities.

As a senior clinician within a smaller health service, you will add immediate value and benefits to the local communities. Here, your qualifications and training are respected and your role as a senior medical practitioner is assured in respect to medical staff, medical administrators and the community itself thereby ensuring a level of autonomy and standing not found elsewhere.

The professional opportunities it will present you are also very interesting. Whether you want to develop your interest in rural and regional psychiatry, indigenous mental health or just enjoy close liaison with a large group of of consultants in other specialties the opportunities are broad.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the following:

  • FRANZCP or overseas equivalent (like CCT, board certification etc.)
