Rem breakdown includes but is not limited to:

 

  • Base up to $399k pa.
  • $31k pa CPD allowance (paid w. salary).
  • 3 month salary retention bonus after 3yrs service then per annum bonus.

Job scope

 

  • Supervise 4 consultant psychiatrists and 1 advanced trainee
  • Manage and allocate resources to ensure quality and safe care is provided
  • Develop, coordinate and monitor the mental health service.
  • Clinical work as a consultant psychiatrist.

 

Other people you will have indirect management responsibilities for include: aboriginal mental health worker, team leaders, clinical nurse managers, recovery centre manager etc.

Working with the executive you will help to plan, develop and evaluate high level policy and strategy. You will provide clinical leadership, implement an effective clinical safety, quality and risk management system whilst raising awareness of mental health issues within the community, enjoying the unique job scope this opportunity provides. Other responsibilities will include but aren't limited to recruitment, developing service specific strategy and business plans, working to improve health outcomes of Australian Aboriginals impacted by mental health issues as well as evaluating the training needs of the service etc.

Interested applicants must be able to address the following selection criteria:

 

  • FRANZCP - must have.
  • broad experience level in a variety of settings. 
  • highly developed communication and negotiation skills.
  • able to communicate at all levels of stakeholders within a health service.
  • strategic planning and high level analytical skills. 
  • resource management experience. 

 

and

  • be prepared for travel with regular overnight stays.
  • participate in the on-call roster.
  • have an interest in Aboriginal Australian health and culture.
