The job
In this role you will take responsibility for clinical governance and leadership in respect to delivery of obstetrics and gynaecology care. This will include:
- Leading initiatives designed to improve the quality of care whilst minimising adverse events and mitigating clinical risks. You will also work in collaboration with senior colleagues across disciplines to provide clinical leadership, governance and day to day clinical and operational management and accountability
- As Director you will ensure clinical governance and leadership, day to day operational management and accountability for obstetrics and gynaecology in the hospital whilst providing clinical leadership and governance across the region.
- Developing and maintaining links with important stakeholders such as primary care providers, NGOs, community groups etc.
- Participate in recruitment of medical and non-medical senior staff.

- Substantial clinical experience in managing patients in a complex hospital
environment.
- Significant experience as a consultant and as a healthcare leader.
- experience in shaping and implementing clinical governance projects.
- skills in long term planning, admin and analysis.
- first class communication skills with abilities to build relationships quickly, achieve outcomes and work collaboratively with others.
Applicants who have post fellowship clinical, education, research, quality or management training and the ability to manage resources inline with budgets and policy will be highly regarded.
