
A rewarding opportunity for a Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine to join a well-supported and progressive Department of Emergency Medicine across the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) in Tasmania.

The Department of Emergency Medicine manages two busy Emergency Departments located approximately 50km apart, each seeing around 30,000 presentations per annum. The North West Regional Hospital is the regional trauma centre with inpatient general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ICU and mental health services. The Mersey Community Hospital is a subacute facility with general medicine and inpatient rehabilitation services. Both sites provide 24-hour pathology and on-call radiology and operate a VST telemedicine stroke program.

- North West Allowance in lieu of private practice of 35%

Selection Criteria
- FACEM or equivalent , SIMG applicants already assessed by ACEM will be highly regarded.
- Excellent teamwork, collaborative and communication capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership, encouragement and inspiration.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research.
- Ability to provide supervision to medical staff in the ED.
- Willingness and ability to undertake continuous quality improvement projects.
- An understanding of the importance of your job and the health service plays in the community.
- A commitment to ethical medical practice.
- Willingness to be on an on-call roster.
